
Bauchi State schools are reopening after a five-week break for Ramadan, with students set to resume classes on Sunday, April 6.
The Bauchi State Ministry of Education made the announcement, reminding parents and guardians that both day and boarding schools will be back in session for the continuation of the second term.
According to the Ministry’s Information and Public Relations Officer, Jalaludeen Usman, the state government prioritizes education, and the Ministry of Education is committed to ensuring students’ success To support this goal, the ministry will soon begin JAMB CBT training for sponsored students.
The ministry emphasized that late resumption will not be tolerated, advising parents and guardians to ensure their children return to school on the stipulated date to avoid disrupting their academic progress.
The schools were initially closed on March 1, 2025, for the Ramadan break, but the extended closure drew criticism from religious groups and civil society organizations concerned about the impact on the education system.
