The Federal Government has reinforced its dedication to revitalizing Nigeria’s power infrastructure through the newly inaugurated Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO), established under the authority of the National Electricity Regulatory Commission.
During a technical inspection of the National Control Center in Osogbo, NISO’s Managing Director, Mr. Mohammed Bello, highlighted the organization’s mission to modernize power operations and enhance internal coordination.
“This development is intentional,” Bello remarked. “NISO represents years of reform within the sector, steered by regulatory oversight and the urgent need to provide better service delivery.”
Bello also shared the organization’s 100-day action plan, focused on diagnosing system inefficiencies and implementing strategies to improve reliability and operational performance.
Emphasizing the significance of accountability, he called on staff to embody the values of public service. “Trust in the system operator isn’t automatic—it’s earned through consistent, precise execution. Every dispatch and system report counts.”
He further assured employees of the government’s backing: “We’re committed to upgrading infrastructure, modernizing operations, and establishing a resilient institution. Each of you has a crucial role to play in this transformation.”
