Fuji music star Saheed Osupa has withdrawn a cyberstalking case against controversial singer Portable, following intervention from notable stakeholders in the music industry. The case was filed at the Upper Area Court 1, High Court, Ilorin, Kwara State.
Osupa had accused Portable of criminal defamation, intimidation, and cyberstalking after Portable allegedly made defamatory remarks about him during a live Instagram broadcast.
However, Osupa’s solicitor confirmed that his client had decided to settle the matter out of court.
The withdrawal letter warned Portable to desist from further publications or utterances disparaging Osupa’s person or business. The case highlights the ongoing tensions between the two musicians and the industry’s efforts to resolve conflicts amicably.
In March, Portable had accused Osupa of removing his music from streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify, which Osupa denied. The court had earlier granted Portable bail in the sum of N1 million and two sureties.
