The Kaduna State Police Command has distanced itself from Hadaina Hussaini (Dan-taki), an individual who falsely presented himself as a police officer while making provocative remarks on social media.

Hussaini had threatened retaliatory actions against southerners living in northern Nigeria following the tragic deaths of 16 northerners in Uromi, Edo State.

In a Facebook post, Hussaini claimed that northerners would take “decisive action” against southerners. His comment read: “I swear by Almighty God, we must do something for you guys… after one week you shall see the result.”

In response, the police issued a statement clarifying that Hussaini is not a member of the Nigeria Police Force or the Kaduna State Police Command.

According to Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, Hussaini had previously been part of the Police Special Constabulary but was dismissed two years ago due to his misconduct.

The police have urged the public to verify the identity of officers carefully, as Hussaini’s uniform, shown in his social media posts, belonged to a former Special Constabulary member.

Hussaini has been arrested and will face legal charges following preliminary investigations.

The police reiterated the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to upholding peace, law, and order, rejecting any form of incitement, hate speech, or threats to national unity.

The Kaduna Police Command also reassured the public to stay calm and report any suspicious activities to authorities.
