Nigeria’s dynamic music industry is set to celebrate its brightest talents today, Sunday, April 27, 2025, as the 17th edition of the prestigious Headies Awards takes center stage.
The star-studded ceremony, known for honouring excellence across genres such as Afrobeats, R&B, Hip-Hop, Inspirational, and Rap, will be held at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos.
One of the most anticipated moments of the night is the fiercely contested Next Rated category, featuring rising stars Qing Madi, Shallipopi, OdumoduBlvck, Ayo Maff, and Nasboi. The winner will take home the highly coveted title along with a brand-new SUV.
Other hotly contested categories include Artiste of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year.
Formerly known as the Hip Hop World Awards, the Headies will feature electrifying live performances, heartfelt tributes, and will be broadcast live on HIP TV (DStv Channel 324 and GOtv Channel 22) and streamed globally on YouTube.
