Aloma Isaac, better known as Nigerian skitmaker Zicsaloma, has publicly criticized the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) for what he described as unprofessional and inhumane treatment of his mother, who is currently receiving cancer treatment.

In a heartfelt video shared on his Instagram, Zicsaloma recounted the troubling events surrounding his mother’s recent visit to LUTH. He claims that, despite her serious condition, hospital security and staff denied her entry.

“Our healthcare system is failing us,” he said, visibly emotional. “My mother, who is undergoing chemotherapy and is in critical condition, was turned away at LUTH. We rushed her from the Island to a nearby hospital on Okin Road, but they sent us back to LUTH, where she had begun her treatment, warning us she might not survive unless we acted fast.”

Zicsaloma went on to describe the further ordeal at LUTH, stating that upon arrival, his mother was not only denied immediate care but was also directed to a testing center for additional diagnostics.

Even after the required tests were completed, she was allegedly still refused access to the hospital.

“They locked my mother, my sister, and a friend I had sent to assist them outside the gate. The security guard said they couldn’t let her in until her test results were ready, which could take hours. They insisted that only a doctor could authorize her entry, but when one finally arrived, he refused to speak to me on the phone and told my sister he wouldn’t examine my mother until the results came in,” he explained.

Zicsaloma expressed his disbelief and frustration with the lack of compassion shown by the hospital staff.

“We begged the doctor to at least assess her, but he walked away. My mother, who is barely holding on, was left outside like that. Where is the humanity?” he said.

He also urged the government to launch an immediate investigation into the hospital, using his experience as a reflection of the wider issues plaguing Nigeria’s healthcare system.

“The government must investigate that hospital. This isn’t just about my mother; it’s about the countless Nigerians who suffer in silence because they don’t have a voice,” he added.

As of the time of writing, LUTH has yet to respond to the allegations.
