An All Progressives Congress Chieftain, Hon. David Ayodele Asalu has charged the members of the party to work together in order to win the forthcoming 2026 governorship election in the State.
Asalu gave this charge at the farmers empowerment programme held at Ejigbo Local Government Area, on Wednesday.
The empowerment was held for farmers across Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, Ejigbo Federal Constituency.
Addressing the APC faithful at the event, Asalu called for a United front to face the 2026 elections, stating that the party cannot afford any slip.
He said, “Factions are not needed within the part, the 2026 Election is a must for the party, aspirants, members and stakeholders in the party must all come together to achieve this goal”.
He also declared that he would give 30 branded cars for any chosen candidate the party chooses to go for the governorship election.
However, Asalu called on other leaders and stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, to borrow some leaves from template, and improve the party’s fortunes through direct contributions to the development of people.
“It is not enough to be party leaders and stakeholders by mouth, we must come with great influence at home. We gather more followers through efforts of this nature, directly channeled to the people we hope to serve. We are not leaders by mere mouth, we must be leaders in words and in deeds”, he stated.
While addressing the beneficiaries of the empowerment, he advised them to make judicious use of the tools given to them in order to improve the food security of the State and Country.
The Empowerment of over 1000 farmers in Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal constituency with agricultural tools, agrochemicals and fertilizers was in collaboration with Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria.
An Executive Officer of Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN), Mrs. Yaya advised the beneficiaries to make use of the tools given to them in order for them to have good produce that will serve as means of employment and livelihood for themselves, families and the Nation.
Speaking on behalf of the Farmers Association in Ejigbo, the Secretary-general, Pastor Peter commended the facilitators of the empowerment, while imploring the federal Government to reduce the prices of agricultural tools and materials such as the chemicals, in order to make farming attractive and profitable.
InsightMedia recalled that this is the second empowerment organized by Asalu this year as he supported over 1, 300 students with scholarships earlier this year.
