Friends and associates of social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), have raised concerns over the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) alleged refusal to allow them to deliver food to him while in custody.

According to his lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, Otse was arrested by EFCC officials on Friday a development that has sparked outrage across various social media platforms.

There are also growing claims implicating a certain bank in what some believe is an orchestrated effort to silence the outspoken figure.

One of VDM’s close associates, Koko Pee, took to social media to share updates from the EFCC headquarters. In a five-minute video, he said.

“We’re at the EFCC office trying to bring food and see VDM. The body that took the beating needs to eat.”

In a follow-up post, “There’s a standing order no one is allowed to see him or give him food until Monday” he added.

According to reports, EFCC officials told visitors that the commission would be responsible for feeding Otse during his detention.

Multiple attempts to reach EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale for comment were unsuccessful, as calls to official lines went unanswered at the time of filing this report.
