Brentford boosted their hopes of European qualification with a dramatic 4-3 win over Manchester United at the Gtech Community Stadium, overturning a deficit in a pulsating encounter.

Mason Mount opened the scoring for United, converting a superb delivery from Alejandro Garnacho to net his second goal for the club. Brentford responded when a cross from captain Mikkel Damsgaard deflected off Luke Shaw and into the United net for the equalizer.

The hosts surged ahead six minutes later in controversial circumstances. Kevin Schade powered home a header for his 10th goal of the campaign, despite protests from United after Matthijs de Ligt went down injured in the build-up.

Schade struck again midway through the second half, heading in from a Bryan Mbeumo cross to make it 3-1. Brentford continued their assault, with Michael Kayode slicing through the United defense to set up Yoane Wissa for the fourth.

United rallied late, with Garnacho firing in a spectacular long-range goal before Amad Diallo added a third in stoppage time. But Brentford held firm to claim all three points.

The result leaves Manchester United languishing in 15th place with 39 points from 35 matches, while Brentford climb to ninth, just one point shy of Bournemouth in eighth.
