Senator Ademola Adeleke commissioned three newly acquired fire trucks for the Osun State Fire Service. The event, held on Wednesday at the Osun State Fire Service Headquarters in Osogbo.

 

Adeleke highlighted that the procurement of these modern fire trucks is part of his administration’s broader initiative to revamp the Osun State Fire Service. He revealed that the state had previously acquired seven fire trucks and a water tanker, along with other essential firefighting equipment.

 

“When I assumed office, the state of our fire service facilities was a serious concern. It had been over 14 years since any new fire trucks were purchased. We knew immediate action was required,” the governor stated.

 

He emphasized the importance of maintaining the newly acquired trucks and directed the Commissioner for Home Affairs and the leadership of the Fire Service to develop a robust maintenance and accountability framework.

 

Governor Adeleke also reaffirmed his commitment to equitable resource distribution across Osun State, announcing plans to deploy one fire truck to each of the nine Federal Constituencies and another to the Fire Service Headquarters.

 

The commissioning ceremony was attended by top government officials, firefighters, and other stakeholders.
