His Royal Majesty, Oba Olayinka Oyetunde Ishola Jokotola II, Ilufemiloye I, the Olojudo Alayemore of Ido-Osun Kingdom, has extended warm congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Laminisa I, the Timi of Ede Land, on his recent recognition with the World Peace Award.

The award was presented by the World Institute for Peace during the World Peace Conference and Award Nigeria 2025.

The prestigious ceremony, held on Friday, 21st June 2025, at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in Abuja, brought together leading traditional rulers, national figures, scholars, and peace advocates from across the country. This year’s conference focused on the theme:
“Building Peace Through Collaborative Intelligence: Uniting Agencies, Communities/CSOs, and Global Partners to Enhance Cooperation and Develop Effective Strategies for Conflict Prevention and Management.”

Dignitaries in attendance included the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, OFR, Major General Ishola Yusuf, Prof. Mahfouz Adedimeji, Vice Chancellor of the African School of Economics, Abuja, and Prof. Joy Chinwe Eyisi, the first female Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), among many other notable guests.

According to a statement by his media aide, Prince Okunoye Adebisi, Oba Jokotola, who was present at the event, described the award as a timely and well-deserved recognition of the Timi’s steadfast commitment to peacebuilding, traditional leadership, and national unity.

The Monarch further commended the World Institute for Peace for recognizing the indispensable role of traditional institutions in maintaining societal harmony and promoting peaceful coexistence across communities.

He concluded with royal prayers for the Timi of Ede, wishing him continued wisdom, sound health, and a reign marked by greater impact and divine favor:

“May your reign be long, peaceful, and filled with continuous accomplishments. Ido-Osun celebrates with Ede on this noble achievement.”
