The recent massacre of over 200 villagers in Yelwata, Benue State, has triggered widespread grief and outrage across Nigeria.

In response, prominent figures from the entertainment industry are speaking out, demanding accountability and urgent intervention from the government.

2Baba, who hails from Benue, released a heartfelt video addressing the tragedy:

“My heart is heavy. I am terribly sad and angry. What is happening in Benue is now a national emergency. This can’t continue. We need action, not just words.”

He urged leaders and citizens alike to unite in pursuit of a solution, stressing that change is possible with collective will.

Blackfaze, his former bandmate and fellow Benue native, took to Instagram to voice his frustration, hinting that his politically charged music has led to attempts to silence him:

“You can’t turn this into emotional blackmail. I will keep doing what I was sent to do in this world.”

Sabinus, a popular skit maker, issued a direct appeal to authorities:

“Every life matters. Please take urgent action. We could be the next victims.”

Kiddwaya, reality TV star and son of billionaire Terry Waya, came under fire for asking Nigerians to donate to victims’ families while maintaining a flamboyant lifestyle online. Still, he called on the government and international partners to act swiftly and bring perpetrators to justice.

Former BBNaija winner Phyna expressed deep anger and skepticism toward official responses:

“There were no victims in Yelwata they were all killed and burnt. Who did the President visit in the hospital? Why the Photoshop? Nigeria has failed us.”

Outspoken rapper and activist Falz condemned the impunity “over 200 killed and not one arrest? Yet people are clapping. What a shame.”

Veteran actress Kate Henshaw echoed the national frustration “we are sitting ducks in this country! 100 people, 200 people? Just like that? It’s too much.”

As the country grapples with yet another senseless tragedy, the collective voice of Nigerian entertainers adds pressure on leaders to act beyond condolences and promises.
