Afrobeats icon Davido real name David Adeleke has officially pulled out of his headline show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, originally slated for July 3, 2025, citing unresolved organisational issues.
Despite strong ticket sales and massive fan anticipation, the Nigerian superstar announced the cancellation via Instagram on Saturday, attributing the decision to ongoing logistical and planning challenges with the event promoters.
“Over the past few weeks, I’ve shown full support and professionalism to The Necto Future Group, promoters of @iconicpresents, with every intention of delivering a show worthy of my fans,” Davido wrote.
He went on to explain that “major misalignments” between his team and the organisers over the show’s execution risked compromising the quality and integrity of his performance.
“Unfortunately, these issues remain unresolved. As a result, I regret to inform you that I will no longer be performing at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on July 3,” he stated.
Davido clarified that while the event may still proceed, it will do so without his involvement.
Reaffirming his commitment to fans, he stressed that the cancellation was not due to lack of support but a matter of upholding professional standards.
“This decision is not about turnout or support. It’s about maintaining the standards I hold for my craft, my fans, and the culture I represent.”
Looking ahead, the artist assured fans that the rest of his summer tour remains unaffected.
“London, I’ll see you soon, I promise! The rest of the shows this summer are still on. 5ive is still alive! See you in Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Canada, and the US!” he wrote, signing off with a firm message: “Africa must be respected.”
