The 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship concluded in thrilling fashion on Saturday night, with England defeating Germany 3-2 after extra time to successfully defend their title in Slovakia.
At the Tehelné Pole Stadium, England appeared to be in control early on, taking a 2-0 lead in the first half thanks to goals from Harvey Elliott and Omari Hutchinson. But Germany responded with determination, as Nelson Weiper and Paul Nebel found the net in the second half to level the score at 2-2 and force extra time.
In the additional period, England’s Jonathan Rowe proved to be the match-winner, scoring the decisive goal that sealed a second consecutive Euro U-21 title for Lee Carsley’s side.
