Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, met with President Bola Tinubu at the President’s private residence in Lagos on Tuesday, June 3.
Photos released by the State House captured the two leaders in a closed-door meeting. However, no official statement has been issued regarding the content of their discussions.
This is the second private meeting between Fubara and Tinubu since the governor’s suspension on March 18, 2025.
President Tinubu had suspended Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of the Rivers State House of Assembly for six months, citing escalating political instability.
In response to the crisis, Tinubu also declared a state of emergency in Rivers State and appointed retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas as interim administrator to oversee the state’s affairs.
