Paul Adefarasin, Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, has responded to a viral video circulating on social media, denying claims that he was holding a firearm.
In the video, Adefarasin is seen holding a metallic object while engaging in conversation with a passerby who was filming the encounter. The footage led to widespread speculation online, with some viewers suggesting the object was a gun.
Taking to his official social media accounts on Saturday, Adefarasin clarified the situation, describing the assumptions as a misunderstanding.
“You might have seen a video online that some have misinterpreted as me brandishing a firearm. Let me assure you it was not a firearm, and at no point was it pointed at anyone,” he stated
Acknowledging the public’s concerns, the pastor noted that he would briefly address the matter during the church’s 9:00 a.m. service on Sunday.
“We understand the concern this may have caused. We’ll speak briefly on this during our service tomorrow. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
He also urged the public to be cautious about jumping to conclusions and spreading misinformation.
