An unidentified man fell from one of the upper floors of the 26-storey Cocoa House in Ibadan, Oyo State, early Monday morning, sparking panic in the surrounding business area.
A witness at the scene recounted, “At first, I thought it was a bird falling. It wasn’t until he hit the ground that I realized it was a person. I was too shocked to react.”
Another eyewitness said, “He struck a roof near the security post before landing. It was terrifying to watch.”
The circumstances leading to the fall remain unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
Odu’a Investment Company Limited, which manages Cocoa House, confirmed the incident in a statement released Tuesday.
According to Victor Ayetoro, the company’s Head of Branding and Communication, the man received immediate medical attention and was taken to University College Hospital, Ibadan.
The company expressed concern over the incident and assured the public of its full cooperation with authorities during the investigation.
