Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for increased support and a more nurturing environment to help men succeed in their roles as fathers.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday to commemorate International Father’s Day, Senator Tinubu praised Nigerian fathers for their dedication to raising well-rounded, compassionate children.

“I commend all Nigerian fathers who commit themselves to nurturing confident, responsible, and kind-hearted children,” she said. “I also acknowledge those who embrace fatherhood through mentorship, guardianship, and community leadership.”

She highlighted the critical role men play in family life, noting that active fatherhood contributes significantly to stronger families and a more stable nation.

“We must continue to support men and create an environment that allows them to thrive as fathers,” she urged. “May God bless all fathers, strengthen you in your responsibilities, and reward your efforts with peace, joy, and fulfillment.”

International Father’s Day is celebrated worldwide to honor the influence of fathers and the importance of paternal bonds.
