President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the nation is moving past its most difficult economic challenges, urging citizens to remain patient and steadfast as the government’s reforms begin to yield results.
In his 2025 Eid-el-Kabir message delivered on Thursday, President Tinubu acknowledged the hardships many have faced, but emphasized that signs of progress are emerging.
“Though the road has been tough, our economic reforms are beginning to bear fruit. While we may not be where we want to be just yet, I ask Nigerians to remain hopeful and resilient. Key economic indicators are showing improvement, and in due time, everyone will begin to feel the positive effects,” he said.
He stressed that the goal of the reforms goes beyond improving statistics — the focus, he said, is on changing lives and laying a strong, lasting foundation for Nigeria’s sustainable development.
“There are no overnight solutions, but we are resolute in our mission to rebuild our economy. Our government will continue to act in the best interest of the people and ensure that the progress we’re making results in tangible benefits for all,” the President added.
Tinubu also urged Nigerians to offer prayers for the country’s armed forces and security personnel, acknowledging their sacrifice and dedication to national security.
“During this sacred celebration, let us remember and pray for our brave men and women in uniform who risk their lives daily to protect our nation. Let us also pray for peace in our country and across the world, and for divine guidance for our leaders at all levels,” he said.
Reflecting on the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir, the President encouraged all Nigerians to embody the values of sacrifice, unity, and compassion, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
“Eid is a time to look beyond personal interests and embrace values that strengthen our collective resolve — resilience, tolerance, and commitment to national progress,” Tinubu stated.
