Popular social media personality and activist, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), staged a protest at the residence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja on Monday.
The demonstration comes amid an ongoing strike by primary school teachers in the FCT, which has entered its 13th week. The strike, which began on March 24, 2025, is in protest against the failure of Area Council Chairmen to implement the new national minimum wage of N70,000.
In a symbolic move, VDM brought a group of uniformed schoolchildren to the Minister’s gate, where he conducted an impromptu class session, teaching them letters of the alphabet. During the session, he recited, “S for Suegbe, T for Tinubu, W for Wike,” with the children repeating after him.
When approached by a PUNCH correspondent, VDM declined to comment but stated that the Minister’s gate would now serve as the children’s new classroom.
As of the time of reporting, the children were on a break, enjoying rice and chicken meals reportedly provided by VDM and his supporters.
