Italian champions Napoli are preparing a €50 million offer for Nigeria international Ademola Lookman, according to Insight Media Sports Arena.

The Atalanta forward has emerged as Napoli’s top target to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who departed for Paris Saint-Germain in January. The Serie A side, now under the management of Antonio Conte, has already made waves in the transfer market with the signings of Kevin De Bruyne and youngster Luca Marianucci, and now aim to strengthen their attack further.

Reports from Italian outlet CNA suggest Napoli’s proposed bid is €10 million short of Atalanta’s €60 million valuation. Lookman, 27, had a strained relationship with former Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini, fueling speculation about a possible exit. However, newly appointed coach Ivan Juric appears intent on keeping the Nigerian forward at the club.

“It will be tough in the league, there will be fierce competitors,” Juric said in his first press conference, as quoted by Calcio Napoli. “The idea would be to keep both Lookman and Ederson. I haven’t made any demands just shared in the club’s overall vision.”

Despite Napoli’s interest, Lookman is also attracting attention from Premier League clubs and Spanish giants Barcelona. It remains unclear whether he prefers to stay in Italy or return to England, where he previously featured for Charlton, Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City.

Lookman has been a standout performer for Atalanta, recording 52 goals and 25 assists in 108 matches. He etched his name into club history in May 2024, scoring a memorable hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen to seal Atalanta’s first-ever European trophy.
