The palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Olayinka Oyetunde Ishola Jokotola II, Ilufemiloye I, was aglow with cultural pride and academic celebration on Wednesday as the Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, paid an official visit with members of his management team.

The visit was particularly momentous, as Oba Jokotola II is a proud alumnus of UNIOSUN and a member of its pioneer graduating class.

His ascension to the throne stands as a powerful symbol of the union between education, tradition, and visionary leadership.

Among the dignitaries present were the Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on School Monitoring, Oluomo Akin Ajetunmobi, as well as respected traditional chiefs, mogajis, and community leaders.

During the visit, Professor Adebooye announced that the university would soon begin a major investment project in Ido-Osun.

This initiative, which has secured presidential and gubernatorial backing, is expected to bring meaningful development to the community—enhancing infrastructure, creating jobs, and expanding opportunities for residents.

Expressing pride in the monarch’s achievements, Professor Adebooye lauded Oba Jokotola II as a shining example of the values instilled by UNIOSUN.

He emphasized the university’s commitment to collaboration in areas of youth development, education, and socio-economic empowerment.

He also thanked the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for his strong support of the university’s vision, and acknowledged the continued encouragement of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II.

In his response, Oba Jokotola II expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and the university community, assuring them of the palace’s full support in actualizing the proposed development.

He described the initiative as a beacon of progress that will shape the future of Ido-Osun and its surrounding areas.

“This partnership is more than symbolic—it is a call to action for growth, unity, and progress,” the monarch said.
