The African Democratic Congress (ADC)-led coalition has relocated the unveiling of its political platform to a new venue following the abrupt cancellation of its original booking by Wells Carlton Hotel on Wednesday.

In a statement signed by ADC Deputy National Secretary, Nkem Ukandu, the coalition announced that the event will now be held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

“Members of the National Working Committee, National Executive Committee, Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders are expected to be in attendance,” the statement noted, while also emphasizing that participation is self-funded.

The last-minute venue change came after Wells Carlton Hotel pulled out of hosting the event, citing an unspecified “internal compliance matter.” In a message shared by media figure and politician Dele Momodu, the hotel expressed regret over the short notice and the inconvenience it might cause.

The cancellation sparked criticism from opposition figures, with several alleging that the ruling APC government may have influenced the decision.

The ADC is being positioned as the central platform for a new opposition alliance ahead of the 2027 elections. Key political figures reportedly backing the coalition include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, former Senate President David Mark, and former governors Rauf Aregbesola and Nasir El-Rufai.
