The factional chairman of the Labour Party (LP), recently paid a visit to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, at his residence in Abuja.
While details of the meeting remain undisclosed, the visit comes shortly after the Abure-led faction of the LP issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Peter Obi, the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, to resign over his involvement in a coalition with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Wike, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who currently serves in the APC-led federal cabinet, has been accused by some PDP members of fueling the ongoing internal crisis within the Labour Party.
