Chelsea’s Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic has officially joined Bournemouth in a transfer deal reportedly worth £25 million ($33 million).
The 25-year-old has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the Vitality Stadium until June 2030. Petrovic joined Chelsea from Major League Soccer side New England Revolution in 2023 but spent the 2024/25 season on loan at French club Strasbourg. He made a total of 31 appearances for the Blues.
Speaking on his move, Petrovic expressed his excitement: “I’m really happy to be here. I came to Bournemouth because I want to grow and play at the highest level. With this club and its facilities, I believe we can achieve great things. I want to help the team get results, improve daily, and become a better player.”
Bournemouth were in need of a new first-choice goalkeeper after Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was on loan from Chelsea last season, completed a permanent move to Arsenal. Additionally, their former backup goalkeeper, Mark Travers, joined Everton earlier this week.
