Grammy-winning Nigerian music star, Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as Wizkid, has opened up about his preference for a quiet life centered around family, rather than the social scene often associated with celebrity culture.

In a recent interview monitored on Friday, the globally acclaimed singer revealed that he deliberately avoids large gatherings, choosing instead to spend quality time with his children.

“I don’t like to hang out with so many people,” Wizkid said. “I just prefer to be at home with my son and just chill.”

Known for his hit songs and electrifying stage presence, Wizkid shared that behind the spotlight, he leads a private and grounded lifestyle that many fans might not expect. A father of four, the singer said his true source of peace is found within the walls of his home, surrounded by his loved ones not in clubs or at star-studded parties.

“I enjoy the calm that comes with just being around my kids,” he added.

Wizkid further explained that while the public may view him as a nightlife icon, he considers himself a simple man who values his personal space and emotional well-being.

“I’m just a regular guy who loves his space,” he said, stressing the importance of maintaining a small, trusted circle.

He also highlighted the significance of guarding one’s energy and privacy in today’s fast-paced world. “Not everyone deserves access to your energy,” he noted.

His candid remarks offer a different perspective on the global superstar, who is often portrayed as a symbol of glamour and excitement. Yet, for Wizkid, joy and fulfillment are rooted in the simplicity of fatherhood and quiet moments away from the public eye.

“I’d rather stay indoors and be with my kids than be outside doing too much,” he concluded.
