Joe Igbokwe, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, has criticized ongoing violence in the South-East, accusing some Igbo individuals of orchestrating the unrest while shifting blame to Fulani herdsmen.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Igbokwe stated “The blatant and pathological lies about the killings and destruction in the South-East can no longer stand.

It is Igbo killing Igbo, Igbo destroying Igboland, and blaming Hausa/Fulani herdsmen. This is not our culture. This is sad.”

Originally from Anambra State, Igbokwe is known for his outspoken views on issues concerning the Igbo community and has consistently condemned violence within the region.

In a related post on Wednesday, he warned of the rising threat of ethnic bigotry across Nigeria.

“Good morning Nigerians! Ethnic bigotry is growing hopelessly like wildfire in Nigeria, and our eyes are not open to see the danger.

I pray the veil covering our eyes will be removed so that we can see clearly. Make we de play ooo.”
