Arsenal have confirmed the signing of England international Noni Madueke from Chelsea in a deal valued at £52 million. The agreement includes an upfront payment of £48.5 million, with an additional £3.5 million in performance-based add-ons.

The 23-year-old winger has signed a five-year contract with the North London side and was given number twenty jersey at Emirates stadium, he became the club’s fourth major signing of the summer following the arrivals of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, midfielder Martin Zubimendi, and defensive midfielder Christian Norgaard.

Primarily deployed as a right winger, Madueke is also adept on the left flank and is expected to add significant firepower and versatility to Arsenal’s attack. The Gunners view him as a key asset in their pursuit of silverware next season.

Madueke’s move is the latest in a growing list of transfers between the London rivals. He now becomes the seventh player in the last six years to make the switch from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates Stadium, following in the footsteps of Kepa, Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz, Jorginho, Willian, and David Luiz.

During his stint at Chelsea, Madueke netted 20 goals in 92 appearances after his £29 million move from PSV Eindhoven in 2023. He played a pivotal role in the Blues’ UEFA Conference League title run last season and contributed to their FIFA Club World Cup triumph in the United States.

Speaking after his unveiling, Madueke expressed excitement about his new challenge: “I’ve spoken to Declan Rice, Myles, Bukayo, even Jurrien and they all spoke highly of the club about the culture, the warmth, and the family-like atmosphere,” he said.

He added, “The goal is to win every competition we’re in. I believe we have the quality to achieve that.”

His departure from Chelsea coincides with a fresh wave of attacking signings for the club, including Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Jamie Gittens, who have joined from Ipswich Town, Brighton, and Borussia Dortmund, respectively.
