APC-vs-PDP

The deployment of 1,750 Imole Corps ad-hoc teachers by Governor Ademola Adeleke to public schools in Osun State has sparked a heated exchange between the state chapters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement released in Osogbo, APC spokesperson Kola Olabisi criticized the move, alleging that the governor’s decision puts the future of students at risk and reflects administrative confusion.

The party claimed that placing untrained personnel in schools after three years in office reveals the Adeleke administration’s misplaced priorities.

“It defies logic,” the APC said, “how a government spending billions on unnecessary flyovers and luxury vehicles for officials can justify deploying untrained teachers to classrooms.”

The party further argued that the policy neglects qualified teacher applicants who have completed interviews and are awaiting placement.

In response, PDP spokesperson Oladele Bamiji defended the decision as a temporary measure, necessitated by the Federal Government’s alleged withholding of local government allocations over the past five months.

According to Bamiji, the Imole Corps teachers were trained and are working under the supervision of experienced educators.

He accused the APC-led Federal Government of deliberately targeting key development projects, including education, by starving the state of funds.

“The APC is desperate to stall Osun’s progress,” he said. “But the PDP government remains committed to development. Whether APC likes it or not, Osun must break free from underdevelopment.”

Bamiji also issued a political warning, stating that Osun voters would hold the APC accountable in the 2026 elections for its “inhuman treatment” of the people.
