Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), convened a strategic security meeting with senior Nigerian Army officers at the Ahmadu Bello House in Ilorin.

In attendance were Brigadier General Daniel Dieke, Corps Commander Education; Major General Peter Oguntola, Commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade, Sobi; Brigadier General Ezra Barkins; and Brigadier General U.J. Makber.

The meeting, which concluded on a constructive note, forms part of the Governor’s broader initiative to strengthen security and maintain law and order across the state.

Governor AbdulRazaq reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing Kwara’s security framework and making the state unwelcoming to criminal elements and non-state actors.

This latest engagement follows a similar strategic session held in April with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, alongside heads of security agencies and traditional rulers in the state.

During that meeting, Lieutenant General Oluyede commended Governor AbdulRazaq for his continuous support to the Nigerian Army, particularly highlighting the state government’s provision of operational vehicles and motorcycles to the 22 Armoured Brigade.

He also reaffirmed the Army’s readiness to collaborate with other security agencies in ensuring lasting peace and security, particularly in the Northern and Southern regions of the state.
