Nigeria’s national women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have once again etched their name in history by winning the 2025 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Championship, marking their fifth consecutive title.
Led by head coach Rena Wakama, the team secured victory over Mali in the final match held on Sunday at the Palais des Sports de Treichville, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
With this win, Nigeria becomes the first country to claim five straight Women’s Afrobasket titles, solidifying their dominance in African women’s basketball.
