The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has temporarily taken its result-checking portal offline due to technical difficulties, just hours after releasing the 2025 WASSCE results.
The announcement was made via WAEC’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday evening.
“WAEC hereby informs the general public that the result checker portal @waecdirect.org is temporarily shut down due to technical issues.
However, the Council is working assiduously to ensure that candidates are able to access their results in the next 24 hours. Please bear with us.”
As a result, many candidates have been unable to access their long-awaited results, sparking widespread frustration on social media. Users have reported repeated error messages and website timeouts.
Although WAEC did not specify the exact cause of the technical failure, it assured the public that efforts are ongoing to restore the portal promptly.
This disruption comes barely a day after the release of the 2025 WASSCE results, which led to a surge in online traffic as thousands of students rushed to check their performance.
As of the time of this report, no further update has been issued. Candidates are advised to monitor WAEC’s official communication channels for the latest developments.
