Nigerian music star, Burna Boy, has debunked the widespread misconception that he avoids shaving his armpits because his success is tied to voodoo.
The Grammy award-winning singer explained that the speculation, which has trended online due to viral photos of his unshaved armpits, is nothing more than baseless chatter.
Speaking in a recent interview with Apple Music, Burna Boy described the claims as “hilarious” and a prime example of the outrageous things people say in Nigeria.
When asked about common misconceptions people hold about him, he replied: “One is that I don’t like shaving my armpits. Some people think it’s like Samson in the Bible, that my strength is in my hair.
Others even say it’s voodoo, that my power is in my armpits because I don’t shave. Honestly, I don’t even know how to explain it. It’s just some dumb stuff going around. I even tried to check if it’s possible.”
