Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, says President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has transformed healthcare in Nigeria, making cancer treatment available within the country.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, on Thursday, Idris said the Federal Government’s information team was in Enugu to highlight the positive impact of Tinubu’s and Mbah’s policies.

He praised Tinubu’s achievements, saying they were impressive enough to be likened to those of a second-term administration.

Idris noted that Tinubu’s health sector reforms had led to the establishment of six cancer treatment centres—one in each geopolitical zone, including Enugu—equipped with world-class machines and staffed by trained specialists. According to him, Nigerians now have access to cancer care locally, and those seeking treatment abroad do so by choice rather than necessity.

The minister also commended the President for fostering stronger collaboration among security agencies, which he said had improved national security. While acknowledging that challenges remain, Idris assured that Tinubu is committed to doing more to address them.
