Nigerian music sensation Tiwa Savage is making a highly anticipated comeback with the release of her new album, This One Is Personal, set to drop on August 29.
The 13-track project marks her first full-length studio album since 2020’s Celia, concluding a five-year break from major releases.
Sharing the news via her official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, Savage described the album as a deeply personal journey, centered on themes of pain, growth, and resilience.
Recorded across Nashville, London, and Lagos, the album stays close to her Afrobeats roots while offering a more intimate, introspective sound. Collaborations were kept to a minimum, featuring only UK rapper Skepta and rising Nigerian artist Taves.
“This album is my story, so I kept the features limited,” she explained during a fan Q&A on X.
“I wanted you all to feel me in every song. The few features I chose were very intentional—people who understood the vision and could add to the message without diluting its intimacy. It’s less about numbers and more about connection.”
Savage noted that the project reflects her personal evolution over the past five years, navigating career shifts, motherhood, and self-discovery.
In anticipation of the release, fans across the globe have taken to social media using the hashtag #ThisOneIsPersonal, sharing their excitement and engaging with the singer as she offers behind-the-scenes insights into the album’s creation.
