Nigerian rapper, songwriter, and actor, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has finally broken his silence on the marriage speculations that trended across social media in recent days.
The rumours began after Falz posted a set of traditional wedding-themed photos that quickly went viral. The images, which showed him dressed in full ceremonial attire alongside a bride, led many fans to believe that the award-winning entertainer had secretly tied the knot.
However, in a lighthearted reaction shared via his Instagram page, Falz clarified that the photos were not from an actual wedding but part of a creative photoshoot project. He joked about the irony of the situation, saying that when he eventually does get married, people might not even believe him because of this incident.
“When everybody realised I wasn’t really married, people kept saying it’s a case of the boy who cried wolf. Maybe when I do get married nobody will care,” he teased.
Beyond the humour, Falz also used the opportunity to address the constant scrutiny of his private life. The “Bop Daddy” crooner stressed that he has no obligation to share intimate details, including marriage, with the public.
“It is bold of you to actually assume that if I’m getting married, I will share it,” he said, noting that while he cherishes his privacy, he hasn’t completely ruled out the idea of making his marriage public if he feels the need to.
The rapper’s comments come amid growing conversations about the pressures celebrities face to put their personal lives on display. Falz emphasised that fame does not erase the right to set boundaries and that marriage, like other milestones, is a deeply personal decision.
