Representative Bamidele Salam, the lawmaker representing the Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun state at the House of Representatives has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting and ensuring quality and sustainable education for his constituents.

 

The lawmaker reaffirmed his vow at the commissioning of a school building at Ido-Osun, Egbedore Local Government Area on Monday. The commissioning is part of the programmes lined up to mark the second anniversary of the 10th National Assembly.

 

Salam declared that it was essential to provide quality education and enabling environment for students.

 

According to him, “I have been a member of the House now for six years. This is the second anniversary of the 10th House of Representatives. One of the key things I took on upon assumption of office is promotion of education.

 

“To ensure that we remarkably improve on the condition of our schools, we remarkably improve on access to education, as well as provision of instructional materials, very well-standardized classrooms, training for teachers, support for student bodies, everything that has to do with education.” The lawmaker said.

 

Stressing the importance of education, Salam, who is the Chairman of the Public Account Committee of the House, stated that education was a key to liberating the people from poverty and that his representation will continue to invest in the sector for the betterment of the future of the constituency.

 

“When you provide quality education, when you provide education for people, you are giving them the biggest key to liberating them from poverty, from ignorance, and from disease. And that is exactly what we are doing. So, this is just one of so many things we have done in the last six years.

 

“And so many other things we have in plan to ensure that young persons in the local government and represent have access to education in a conducive environment, have access to instructional materials, have access to support in various forms that will make it easier for them to study or to learn or to do their research or whatever they need to do”, he explained further.

 

Representing Governor Ademola Adeleke, the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi commended the lawmaker for the laudable projects while urging the beneficiaries to maintain the projects adequately, so as to ensure more projects into their constituency.

 

Commenting on the development, the Olojudo of, Oba Olayinka Ishola Jokotola described Salam’s representation as impactful, stating that his community has benefitted hugely from the lawmaker.

 

The monarch also used the avenue to appreciate Governor Ademola Adeleke for the infrastructural face-lift witnessed in his domain and Osun at large.

 

The projects commissioned by the lawmaker are one block of eight classrooms each at CAC Grammar School Ede; Baptist High School Ede; L.A Grammar School, Ika and St. Paul’s Primary School, Ido-Osun.

 

Rep. Salam also commissioned a road project at Elerin Sabo area of Ede.
