Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has thrilled fans on social media after revealing he met with French President Emmanuel Macron.

The singer shared photos from the meeting on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, captioning them.

“It was an honour meeting #EmmanuelMacron and sharing our visions for a better world.”

While Davido did not disclose details of their discussion, the encounter underscores the growing collaboration between Nigeria and France in cultural diplomacy.

President Macron has long expressed admiration for Africa’s creative industries. In 2018, he made a historic visit to the Afrika Shrine home of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti which he described as a symbol of African culture, resilience, and music.

More recently, Lagos hosted the Création Africa Forum, an initiative by France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and curated by Maison des Mondes Africains.

The event brought together top African talents in digital fashion, gaming, animation, and immersive technologies, aiming to promote cross-continental collaboration and innovation.
