The Osun State Police Command has announced that the enforcement of tinted glass permits for vehicles will begin nationwide on Thursday, October 2, 2025, in line with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

 

In a public service announcement issued in Osogbo on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said vehicle owners with tinted glasses must register or reactivate their permits through the Police Specialized Services Automation Platform (POSSAP) at (https://possap.gov.ng).

 

“The enforcement of tinted glass permits commences nationwide on 2nd October 2025. In view of this, vehicle owners with tinted glasses are enjoined to register/reactivate their tinted vehicles through the POSSAP platform,” the statement read.

 

To apply, applicants are required to create an account on the platform using a valid email and password, select their identification tag (NIN or BVN), and provide other necessary details.

Supporting documents include proof of vehicle ownership, registration license, passport photograph, and evidence justifying the use of tinted windows such as a medical report or security clearance. Vehicle documents proving that the tinted windows are factory-fitted are also required.

 

The command further explained that the application process is exclusively online, stressing that no physical submission would be entertained.
