The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, says the party is gearing up to challenge the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and reclaim the Plateau State governorship in 2027.
Yilwatda made the remarks in Jos while welcoming a new wave of defectors from the PDP, Labour Party, PRP and NNPP. He described the increasing number of politicians joining the APC as a clear sign that the party is gaining wider acceptance across the state.
“These defections show that more people now believe in the direction and leadership the APC is offering,” he said.
According to him, the APC has been restructuring its internal systems, expanding its grassroots reach and strengthening collaboration among stakeholders to ensure a stronger showing in the next election cycle. He stressed that the party is not only focused on winning legislative seats but is determined to take back the governorship as well.
Yilwatda added that the APC remains open to accepting new members who are willing to work toward the party’s goals. He urged current party members to stay united, committed and active in mobilising support across communities as preparations for 2027 intensify.
