Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has stirred fresh controversy after claiming he has a video that allegedly shows how late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, was killed.
Fabiyi made the revelation in a new video shared on his social media pages, where he also made a direct appeal to President Bola Tinubu to step into the matter. According to him, the footage was sent to him by unknown individuals who tried to use it to extort him.
“President Bola Tinubu, I wrote to you in May 2025 that Mohbad was murdered. Part of the video was sent to me in an attempt to extort me. Your office even directed the Inspector-General of Police to investigate and prosecute those involved,” he said in the viral clip.
Fabiyi also claimed that investigators at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja had already reviewed the files and identified key suspects linked to an alleged cover-up in the case.
He added that as of November 2025, Mohbad’s wife had turned herself in, but he believes some individuals are now trying to suppress the investigation. He alleged that those suspected in the alleged cover-up were even being encouraged to file a petition against him.
According to Fabiyi, some police officers are attempting to intimidate him because of the sensitive evidence he claims to possess.
“They want to silence me because of that video. I don’t know why it is wrong to stand by the government and speak the truth,” he added.
His outburst has sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians urging him to hand over any evidence he has to the authorities rather than making emotional public appeals.
