Unknown armed men have kidnapped Taraba-bound travellers from Iddo Park in Lagos in Kogi State, with the abductors said to be demanding N30 million ransom for each of the victims.
“The travellers, who were passengers in a Taraba Express bus, were kidnapped in Ogorimagongo Local Government area of Kogi State at about 1800 hours on Thursday, January 22, 2026,” a source at Iddo Park revealed on Saturday.
The source disclosed that eight passengers and the driver were in the bus “but two passengers escaped at the point of kidnapping.”
“As at yesterday, the kidnappers are demanding N30m ransom for each victim,” the source added.
The incident, according to the source, has been reported to security operatives at the park and efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the captives.
Kogi state has been the hotbed for kidnapping in the recent times. The government recently procured drones and handed them to security agencies to ensure the situation is improved.
