In preparation for the forthcoming August 8, 2026 Governorship Election, twelve (12) political parties in Osun State have reached a landmark agreement to work together and adopt a single consensus candidate.

The resolution was reached on Friday, January 10, 2026, at a strategic meeting held at Halatria Hotel and Towers, Osogbo, Osun State.

During the meeting, the parties unanimously agreed on the need to pool their strength, resources, and political influence behind one candidate who, by collective support, stands a strong chance of emerging as the next Governor of Osun State.

The alliance, according to them, is aimed at presenting a formidable and united front in the upcoming election.

Political parties present at the meeting include the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Action Democratic Party (ADP), Labour Party (LP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Young Progressives Party (YPP), along with other participating political parties.

This communiqué, signed by the aforementioned parties’ chairmen, was made available to the press immediately after the conclusion of the meeting.
