The National Secretariat of the Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria has congratulated Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, on his appointment as Acting Inspector-General of Police, describing the development as well-deserved and timely.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had announced Disu’s appointment on Tuesday through a statement shared on his official social media platforms, citing the need for continuity and renewed momentum in the nation’s internal security framework.
In a congratulatory message signed by its National Secretary, Alhaji Rahman Olabode Salaudeen, the Society said Disu’s elevation to the exalted office reflects his years of professionalism, discipline and dedication to national service.
“Your appointment as Acting Inspector-General of Police is well-deserved and a recognition of your distinguished service to our nation,” the statement read. “It reflects your professionalism, discipline and unwavering commitment to national security and unity.”
The Society expressed particular pride in Disu’s active involvement in its Abuja Branch, noting that he remains a committed member of the organisation.
“We are particularly proud that you are a prominent and committed member of our Abuja Branch who regularly attends Jumu’ah prayers and participates actively in the life of the Society. Your dedication both to national service and to faith has always been evident and commendable,” Salaudeen stated.
Also reacting, the President of the Society, Mosediq Adeniji Kazeem, SAN, described the appointment as historic and coming at a critical time in Nigeria’s security landscape.
“This appointment is both historic and timely. We are confident that you will discharge the enormous responsibilities of this office with integrity, courage, fairness and wisdom,” Kazeem said.
The Society offered prayers for divine guidance, protection and strength for Disu as he assumes leadership of the Nigeria Police Force amid heightened security challenges across the country.
