Kolawole-Akinlayo

A member of the House of Representatives representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency II, Akinlayo Kolawole, has said he facilitated projects worth over ₦1bn across his constituency in the last three years.
The lawmaker, elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the projects were achieved through federal interventions, partnerships, and strategic collaboration with the administration of Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
According to a statement from his media office, Kolawole said his representation has focused on delivering tangible development in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and employment generation.
“Although a total sum of ₦200m was allocated as constituency project funds, we have been able to facilitate projects worth over ₦1bn through a combination of federal interventions, capital projects, and partnerships with agencies such as the World Bank,” he said.
Highlighting achievements in infrastructure, the lawmaker listed road projects including the Osan-Ora boundary road, as well as other interventions aimed at improving rural connectivity. He also acknowledged that the Ikosu–Erinmope Road was executed by the state government.
In the health sector, he said general hospitals in Iye and Otun-Ekiti had been remodelled, alongside renovations of primary health centres in communities such as Eda-Oniyo and Ikosun, with modern equipment provided to enhance service delivery.
Kolawole added that solar street lights and electricity transformers had been installed in parts of the constituency to improve security and power supply.
On education, he said several schools, including Osi Primary School and Ikosun Comprehensive High School, were renovated, while new classroom blocks were constructed. He disclosed that over 750 students had benefitted from scholarships and financial support.
The lawmaker also highlighted youth empowerment efforts, noting that skill acquisition programmes had been introduced, with employment opportunities facilitated for constituents.
“In addition, over 30 individuals have been engaged in various roles, including recent placements for five beneficiaries,” he said.
On legislative contributions, Kolawole said he had participated in national debates, including discussions on Value Added Tax distribution, and sponsored bills such as the proposed establishment of a Federal School of Nursing and Midwifery in Ido Ekiti.
He reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and expressed readiness for future elections, backing direct primaries as a transparent means of candidate selection.
Kolawole also commended former Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, describing him as a key political figure in Ekiti North.
