The Labour Party Nigeria has officially zoned its presidential ticket for the 2027 general elections to the southern region of the country.

This was disclosed on Tuesday in Abuja by the party’s acting National Chairperson, Nenadi Usman, during an interaction with journalists.

According to her, the decision is firm and leaves no room for aspirants from the northern part of the country.

“We have taken a clear position, we will not field any candidate from Northern Nigeria. The ticket has been zoned to the South, and that stands,” she stated.

The move signals the party’s early strategic direction ahead of the 2027 elections, as political alignments and zoning arrangements begin to take shape across the country.
