Rapper and reality TV star Laycon has revealed that he lost touch with his inner voice after winning Big Brother Naija in 2020.

Laycon, whose real name is Olamilekan Agbeleshebioba, shared the experience in a recent video posted on Instagram, explaining that he went through a period where he felt disconnected from his own thoughts.

Reflecting on the experience, the singer asked, “Has the world ever gone silent on you and all you have left was your own thoughts?”

According to him, it was not until December 2021, after his sold-out concert, The Icons Fest, that he began to reconnect with his inner voice.

“After I won Big Brother Naija in 2020, I lost my inner voice, and the first time I heard that voice again was in December 2021 after my sold-out concert, The Icons Fest,” he said.

Laycon explained that when the voice returned, it confronted him with difficult questions about his life and happiness.

He recalled it asking, “Is this really how you want to live? Are you enjoying yourself? What’s next after this? Are you happy?”

The rapper said those questions pushed him to spend time alone reflecting on his life and the choices he had made.

“That’s what I did. From that conversation came a lot of necessary but uncomfortable truths and realisations about myself,” he added.

Laycon noted that the period of solitude helped him confront realities he had previously avoided and encouraged his followers to embrace moments of silence and self-reflection.

According to him, taking time to reflect promotes personal accountability and provides the clarity needed to make meaningful changes in life.
