Mohbad’s father demands DNA test before burial

Joseph Aloba, father of late singer Mohbad, has insisted that his son will not be laid to rest until a DNA test is carried out to confirm the paternity of the singer’s child.

A Magistrate Court in Ikorodu had earlier ordered a DNA test to determine whether Liam Aloba is the biological son of the deceased. The ruling was delivered by Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga  following an application filed by Aloba.

In a video shared on TikTok, Aloba alleged that influential individuals were attempting to obstruct the process. He also revealed plans to consider moving the case out of Lagos State to Ekiti State after consulting his lawyer.

He said, “Some powerful people are trying to frustrate me using Mohbad’s death. After the toxicology test yielded nothing, they have now selected a questionable DNA centre.”

Aloba appealed to the Lagos State Government to permit the burial but stressed that the DNA test remains a crucial condition. He also called on the public to support his demand, noting that the test is necessary to establish key facts.

The family’s lawyer, Oladayo Ogungbe, had earlier expressed concerns about the competence of some laboratories selected for the test. According to him, the court directed on February 24, 2026, that the DNA analysis be conducted in three mutually agreed laboratories to ensure transparency.

Mohbad died in September 2023 under controversial circumstances, sparking widespread reactions and ongoing legal disputes over his estate, royalties, and the paternity of his child. His son, Liam, was born in April 2023, months before his death, and the issue has continued to draw public attention.
