The University of Benin has appointed Bimpe Omoyiwola as its 10th substantive registrar.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday in Benin City by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Benedicta Ehanire.
Omoyiwola will take over from Ademola Bobola, whose five-year tenure ends on March 31, and is expected to assume office on April 1.
According to the statement, the new registrar hails from Isin Local Government Area and holds a Master’s degree in International History and Diplomacy from the University of Benin, along with other postgraduate qualifications.
She is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Management of Nigeria.
Until her appointment, Omoyiwola served as Director (Registry) at the College of Postgraduate Studies of the university.
The institution expressed confidence that her wealth of administrative experience would contribute significantly to the effective management of its registry and overall institutional development.
