The Nigerian DJ Association has announced a temporary ban on songs by Burna Boy, instructing DJs both in Nigeria and abroad to exclude his tracks from their playlists following an alleged altercation with DJ Tunez at a private event in Lagos.
Reports circulating online claim that the singer and members of his entourage were involved in a physical confrontation with DJ Tunez at a nightclub, after a disagreement escalated. Witnesses alleged that several individuals took part in the scuffle, during which the DJ was reportedly assaulted.
In a statement posted on Instagram, the association expressed solidarity with DJ Tunez and urged its members to remain professional while standing united. It directed DJs to refrain from playing Burna Boy’s songs until further notice, pending the outcome of an investigation into the incident.
The group also emphasized the importance of equality, mutual respect, and non-discrimination within the entertainment industry, calling on DJs to promote fairness and uphold the rights and dignity of their colleagues.
As of the time of reporting, Burna Boy’s management has not issued any official response to the allegations.
